DAVID CAMERON WARNING FOR UN

DAVID Cameron makes his first address to the United Nations today – and will tell delegates that other military interventions could be necessary after Libya.
The Prime Minister, in New York after talks with US President Barack Obama, will say: “The UN has to show we can be not just united in condemnation, but united in action.”
He will say that the Arab Spring is a “massive opportunity” to spread democracy, “but only if we really seize it”.
Acknowledging that “what is right for Libya will not necessarily be right everywhere”, he will say the international community has “found its voice”.
“We must not lose our nerve,” he will tell the General Assembly.
Warning that other military interventions may be necessary, he will say that any action must have the clear backing of the UN.
Last night Mr Cameron met with President Obama to discuss the progress to a safe democracy in Libya.
They also discussed the issue of a Palestinian state.
The UN has to show we can be not just united in condemnation, but united in action.
They agreed they wanted to dissuade activists from pushing for this now, fearing it could only disrupt the fragile peace process in the Middle East.
