Computer error gives wrong information to unemployed Tennesseans

-->-->A computer program error with Tennessee's jobless benefits is refusing to let recipients do their weekly phone check-in. An automated message erroneously tells them their unemployment benefits have ended.
The system has been down at least since Sunday.
"We're getting thousands of calls," said Jeff Hentschel, spokesman for the state Department of Labor.
The error has been identified and Labor officials say it has been fixed this morning.
Recipients either certify, report their job search and any earnings, every Sunday or Monday, in order to get the weekly benefit check.
They have until Friday to certify to still receive the check on time, Hentschel said Monday.
