-->Usama Younan Shehata had just finished his fourth night on the job at a family-owned East Nashville discount tobacco store Wednesday night.
He locked up and headed for his car in the parking lot.
Steps from the door, Shehata, 35, was robbed of everything he had, shot in the head and left for dead outside the Smoke Depot on Porter Street, Metro Police said.
A woman driving past the store found his body at about 10:30 p.m.

Shehata had immigrated to the United States from Egypt last year. He leaves behind a wife and two small children.
"This gentleman was trying to make a living for his family," said East Precinct Lt. Danny Driskell. "It's very tragic, not only that his life was taken, but the fact that he was robbed."
Investigators say that Shehata set the alarm and left the store at about 10:11 p.m. Less than a minute later, two gunshots were fired, but only one hit him, police said. No shell casings were found at the scene and police aren't sure what type of gun was used.
About seven and a half hours of surveillance video taken from the Smoke Depot and an adjoining business, a Cricket phone store, are under review.
Ajeel Mohammad, owner of the Cricket store, said he'd watched his footage, but the shooter was never in view. Mohammad said his business had been burglarized four times in the past year. The last time, he said, was about two weeks ago.
"This is terrible, sad," Mohammad said. "I don't understand it. You rob him, get his money, OK. Let him go. What's the point in killing him?"
Driskell said police are trying to identify a man seen outside the market about 20 minutes before the shooting. He's described as a black man wearing a white hat, dark jacket and a bandanna around his neck. They also want to question anyone who was at the market after 9 p.m.
Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
